SIMON HUANG
Simon Huang grew up in an ethnically Chinese family in Bombay, India. Even though he was statistically a minority, he never felt like an outsider because he was exposed to a diversity of cultures, languages, religions, and communities throughout his life. He went to boarding school in Southern India which helped him adapt to college in Iowa and later St. Louis for computer science and business graduate studies. He carries his appreciation for multiculturalism and diversity with him to his work in Mayor Jones’ office where he is leading a project on internet equity and bridging the digital divide.
