LAUREN WALTHER

Lauren Walther is a Webster University student majoring in psychology with a minor in sociology; she is also one of the student researchers for this project. Adopted from an orphanage in China as a baby, she grew up in O’Fallon, Missouri. Raised by Caucasian parents, she has been proud, curious, and unsure about being Asian. Her journey of coming into her identity is still in process as she grapples with what she describes as her “in-betweenness.” Connecting with other adoptees has allowed her to understand herself more along the way.
