Danny Poon
Danny Poon’s parents moved from Hong Kong to New York where he was born before settling into St. Louis when he was eight. It was here that he found community in the Chinese Christian church which embraced his Asian American heritage but rebuffed his Queer identity. This tension taught Danny to value authenticity, learning how to be proud of both identities. He now focuses on building solidarity with other marginalized communities, understanding the strength of unity and diversity. As the founder of STL Pan Asian Collective (PAC), he is a community leader who advocates for social justice with other young professionals.
